From the time I was a small child, the natural world sparked a fascination that cultural wonders could never quite muster. The incredible creatures - both great and small - that share this planet with us will never cease to amaze me.

Despite "lesser" intelligence (by our measure), they accomplish feats we would never attempt without technology, from long distance migration to deep sea navigation to echo location, and they do it all with graceful sense of belonging and balance that our species increasingly lacks.

Experiencing these amazing creatures in the natural habitat continues to be one of my greatest privileges and joys.
